Should we trade this:
July 26 2008....
another sign stolen !
Can you believe it?  The second sign, the one we erected on Saturday July 19 was stolen today, exactly one week after we put it up.

So now we have one sign at the Sheriff's office for fingerprints and another one gone someplace.

Should people like this be trusted with explosives?

As Winston Churchill said during the dark days of 1941, We shall never give in, never give in, never never never give in.

Below is the chronology, latest news first......
July 24 2008....
We Found It!
The stolen sign had been tossed off the side of Dwight Mission Road!  It's now in the hands of the Sheriff.
Fingerprints
Someone had dirty hands!  If you look closely the ridges and whorls can be seen.  We're waiting to hear the results of official fingerprint analysis.

A new sign was installed exactly one week after the first, it's been 5 days and so far it hasn't been stolen.
July 12 2008.....
Now you see it.....
....And now you don't.
Our sign was stolen!  We installed it Saturday July 12 at about 1:30
in the afternoon.  It was reportedly still there at 6:30 PM
but was gone by 6:50.

Please spread the word.  Highway 17 is busy on a Saturday afternoon and surely somebody saw the sign being taken down.  It has been reported to the Sheriff but we need a witness to the theft.

In the meantime, we continue the fight against the proposed mine.

Is there anyone out there who can pay for another 4' x 8' sign?
The posts are already in place!!!!
June 2008....
Here we go again!

T&M has submitted their revised proposal for a permit to blast and mine north of Sallisaw near Sequoyah Little Farms.

Any letters you already sent have been thrown away, this is a new application and we must object all over again.

Right now, everyone needs to do two things:

First, send a quick letter of objection to the Department of Mines.  No need for a big bunch of complaints but you can write a long letter if it makes you feel better!

Send this letter to:

Oklahoma Department of Mines
2915 North Classen Blvd. Suite 213
Oklahoma City, OK 73106

In the letter, refer to the T&M application for mining permit in Sequoyah County OK.

The second letter is to the editor of the Sequoyah County Times.  You can mail that letter or submit it direct at http://sequoyahcountytimes.com/ scroll to the bottom and click Write the Editor.

It will help if you send letters to the Tulsa, Muskogee, and Fort Smith papers also.

We'll hold another public meeting in Sallisaw at a later date.

This thing hasn't gone away, friends.  We delayed it, and we'll continue to fight until we win.  And I'm absolutely confident WE WILL WIN, because we won't stop until we do!

In the meantime, please consider how much your home and quality of life are worth and how much you can afford to save them.  We may win before any money is needed, but we may reach the point where we need substantial money for the legal fight.

When we need money, we'll sure let you know!

We've just received word that the "informal conference" with the Department of Mines will be held here in Sallisaw on September 23, 10:30 AM at the Indian Capital Vo-Tech.

We will be holding a meeting prior to that date to review who is going to speak on each topic of concern to us.

More as soon as we have it.............
